History of Nintendo
The history of Nintedo goes long way back. In fact, it all started in 1889 when Fusajiro Yamauchi his card game buisiness. Here you can read the history of Nintendo.

1889
Fusajiro Yamauchi starts a card game business specialised in Hanafuda (flora) cards and the business is named Nintendo Koppai. It is said that Nintendo means 'leave luck in heaven'. In the early years the business struggles until the yakuza decide to adopt the cards for their high-stakes gambling. The yakuza demanded a new pack at the start of every game.
1907
Nintendo Koppai becomes the first domestic Japanese supplier of Western-style playing cards, it partners with Japan Tobacco & Salt Corporation.
1927
Hiroshi Yamauchi is born in Kyoto.
1929
Fusajiro Yamauchi retires. The business comes in control of his son-in-law, Sekiryo Kaneda (aka Yamauchi).
1932
Hiroshi’s father walks out on his mother and Hiroshi is sent to live with his grandparents, Tei and Sekiryo Yamauchi.
1933
Universal Studio releases the classic King Kong stop-motion film.
1933
Sekiryo Yamauchi establishes a joint partnership company, it is named Yamauchi Nintendo & Co.
1947
A little after World War II, Sekiryo sets up a distribution company named Marufuku Co Ltd. With this company he distributes Nintendo’s Western-style playing cards.
1949
Sekiryo retires because of healh and leaves the company to his grandson, Hiroshi Yamauchi. The company is renamed to Nintendo Playing Cards Co.
1952
Hiroshi want to expand the business and mves to a newer premises in Kyoto, Japan. Also he begins to streamlining his manufacturing plants.
1952
Shigeru Miyamoto is born outside Kyoto, in the small town of Sonebe.
1953
Yamauchi strikes a deal with Walt Disney. Now Nintendo is allowed to produce playing cards showing the popular Disney characters.
1963
Yamauchi tries somw new ventures after raising capital on the stock market, they include the less successful instant rice, burlesque ‘love hotels’ and a taxi company. Nintendo’s toy division start to look good when one of its employees, Gunpei Yokoi, creates the successful Ultra Hand.
